Agra is world-renowned for its rich history, Mughal architecture, and, of course, the iconic Taj Mahal. Here are some must-visit places in Agra:

Taj Mahal: One of the Seven Wonders of the World, this stunning white marble mausoleum was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The intricate design, symmetry, and the romantic story behind it make the Taj Mahal an unforgettable experience.

Agra Fort: A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Agra Fort was the main residence of the Mughal emperors until Delhi became their capital. Built by Emperor Akbar, the fort showcases magnificent architecture, including Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas, and the Musamman Burj, where Shah Jahan was imprisoned.

Itimad-ud-Daulah's Tomb (Baby Taj): Often referred to as the "Baby Taj," this is the first Mughal structure made entirely of marble. The tomb was commissioned by Nur Jahan for her father, Mirza Ghiyas Beg, and it features intricate inlay work and a peaceful setting along the Yamuna River.

Mehtab Bagh: Located on the opposite side of the Yamuna River from the Taj Mahal, Mehtab Bagh offers a perfect view of the monument, especially at sunset. The garden was originally designed by Emperor Babur, and its alignment with the Taj Mahal makes it a great photography spot.

Akbar’s Tomb, Sikandra: This is the resting place of the Mughal Emperor Akbar, located in Sikandra, a suburb of Agra. The tomb is an architectural masterpiece, blending Hindu, Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, and Jain styles, reflecting Akbar's secular beliefs.

Fatehpur Sikri: Just outside Agra, this UNESCO World Heritage Site was once the capital of the Mughal Empire. Built by Emperor Akbar, Fatehpur Sikri features stunning structures like the Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, and the Panch Mahal.

Jama Masjid: One of the largest mosques in India, the Jama Masjid in Agra was built by Shah Jahan in honor of his daughter, Jahanara Begum. The mosque’s impressive architecture and vast courtyard are well worth a visit.

Chini Ka Rauza: This mausoleum of Allama Afzal Khan Mullah, a poet and scholar in Emperor Shah Jahan’s court, is known for its Persian-style glazed tile decoration, called Chini, which gives the structure its name.

Mariam’s Tomb: This is the tomb of Mariam-uz-Zamani, wife of Emperor Akbar and mother of Jahangir. The tomb is located near Akbar’s Tomb in Sikandra and is surrounded by beautiful gardens.

Keetham Lake (Sur Sarovar Bird Sanctuary): Located a few kilometers from Agra, Keetham Lake is a peaceful spot, especially for nature lovers. The sanctuary is home to a variety of bird species, including migratory birds during the winter season.
